The Swedish flautist Anna Steirud graduated last year from Royal College of Music, London where she studied with Adam Walker and Gitte Marcusson. She was an RCM Scholar supported by The Royal College of Music and The Houston Family Award as well as the Swedish trust H.T Cedergrens Uppfostringsfond. Anna has previously been sponsored by The Fredrika Bremer Trust, Regionförbundet Kalmar Län, Göteborg Wind Orchestra and Echo Music.
During 2020, Anna is a full-time flute teacher at Kalmar’s School of Music in Sweden. She is also freelancing and frequently participating in concerts and events as well as giving solo recitals.
Anna has appeared on stage as a member of London Philharmonic Orchestra, Gothenburg Wind Orchestra and Camerata Nordica. She has performed at the Shanghai Art Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Eastbourne Congress Theatre and Gothenburg Concert Hall. In 2016, Anna performed for the King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia.
